Another week, another podcast missed. Once again Brad had issues with the studio he records our podcast in. The problem should be fixed tomorrow. If it is, Brad and myself will record a condensed episode 16 of the podcast Wednesday night. Unfortunately Alex will not be available for that recording due to his work schedule. Hope to have the full crew back for episode 17 next Monday night the 20th. Thanks again for checking out the blog and the podcasts, we really appreciate it. Go Brewers! Enjoy this video until next time. Oh yeah, I HATE Ryan Dempster.

Damn You Technical Difficulties!
I hate to say this, but for the first time since we started the show back in February, there will be no View From Bernie's Chalet podcast this week. First Monday night, our normal recording night Brad could not make it due to his work schedule. We then decided to re-schedule for tonight (Wednesday) but this time the studio where Brad does the show from in Whitewater, which has the recording equipment had some issues with the computer and a virus. Long story short it was a big pain in our asses.
We do hope and think that we will be back to normal and record episode 16 on Monday 6/13. Sorry about this, we love doing this show and we thank you for listening, wish we could have brought you a show this week. Don't worry though, we promise episode 16 will be the best one yet. We leave you with this kick ass video. Enjoy!

Lazy Saturday
Well today was one of those great lazy weekend days for me. Slept in till 9:30am which felt absolutely great. I can't remember the last Saturday or Sunday that I slept past 8am. Had some time to kill before the Marquette V Georgetown game at 1pm (what a great game, Marquette continues to prove that they are for real and I'm starting to believe that they can go DEEP into the NCCA Tourney this year. They also are very fun to watch with their up tempo game and great defense.). I remembered that I had a Half Priced Books gift card that I had gotten from my soon to be mother in-law for Christmas so I figured I got time I will go finally get something with it. I love shopping there at least once every month or so because you never know what you will find which is something I have always loved about second hand stores. Well I think I made out pretty good today.I got three CD's and a book for $28. First lets start with the CD's, got Pearl Jam's "Yield" which was the only PJ CD I had not yet owned so I was pretty psyched when I found it. Second was Rush's "Moving Pictures". I always respected Rush and thought they were a good band but it was not until recently when I started buying some of their album collection. Lee, Lifeson and Peart are FANTASTIC musicians at their respective instruments. I wish I had gotten "into them" sooner and would love to see them live at some point which I heard is amazing. And third a hip-hop classic that reminds me of middle school, The Fugees "The Score". I had a copy years ago and have no idea what happened to it, this album could almost be a soundtrack to my middle school years.
And finally the book I bought which ties us into the baseball aspect of this blog was Bill Simmons "Now I Can Die In Peace". I have wanted to buy or at least check this book out of the library for awhile now. Simmons has been pretty much the only person I find worth reading over at ESPN.com as I like his everyday fan aspect that he brings into his columns and "BS Report" podcasts which people like myself can easily relate to. He is not some stuck up, smug I'm better then you type sports writer. Looking forward to reading the book, already read the first chapter and have already been entertained.

Not Much Going On, Lets Talk Music!
Only 4 days until 15 years of work and waiting is over. Guns N' Roses "Chinese Democracy" comes out on Sunday 11/23. I'm very pumped, I know a lot of people hate on Axl because it has taken so long to release the record and because it's not the original GNR. But to me, it's still gonna be awesome because it's Axl and a bunch of very good musicians. I think that is one thing people forget when they totally dismiss this record before it even hits. They say oh it's just Axl and a bunch of no name cronies. Well actually not, the new GNR is made up of guys who have played in bands like: Nine Inch Nails, The Replacements, Primus, Psychedelic Furs, etc.
Some of the early reviews are in and everyone I have seen thus far is positive. Of course I have heard some of the demo leaks online but I can't wait to actually hear the full length studio versions of the songs. 4 days to go, Sunday can't come soon enough. Ooops, almost forgot since it is actually coming out, go to drpepper.com and get your free 20 oz. bottle of soda.
